As we currently face a planet emergency this collection embodies fashion for the future by preparing for the inevitable global climate crisis. This collection acts as a homage to the years of hard work charities such as Saint Vincent de Paul have done for those less fortunate, especially in times of hardship.
These garments aim to reduce the creation of scrap material by investigating patchwork techniques and utilising pre-owned items from SVP charity shops, thinking responsibly throughout the design process to create a sustainably conscious and coherent collection.
This corset inspired coat is mad to be reversible, one side is made using a heavy damask bed spreading the other side in made using a variety of patchwork white and cream laces. There is black ribbon /gold toggled adjustable features throughout this garment to help create a variety of styles and ways to wear. The coat is full length with a 3/4 length black and gold zipper on the centre front. The back of the coat resembles a corset structure, which can be adjustable also.
