Items are shipping in different mailers depending on the items inside, with most being in recyclable cardboard mailers, a few being in bubble mailers that are not recyclable. (Once my stock runs out, they will be replaced by more environmentally friendly mailers.)

You are correct! Unless other arrangements were explicitly made between the artist and the client, by default, the copyright to an art piece belongs to the artist that created it, even if it was a commissioned piece. My Terms of Service for custom art/commissions, that is agreed to by each client, state specifically that i retain the rights to the artwork (that allow me to modify it, reproduce it, sell it, etc) while they get limited non-commercial rights so they can enjoy the image, post it, etc. So, they have agreed to this before purchasing a commission from me.
