The original tree bark was collected from Jung's family house in Zurich, Switzerland. It was one of the most beautiful and softest tree bark I ever saw and I found out that it was pine tree bark.

The essence of the bark already existed within the tree when Jung was still alive and living in his family house. I like to let my imagination fly that this bark act as a bridge to connect Jung and me beyond time and space. I feel that when I wear this necklace, I am wearing an essence of Jung with me.

Many trees are held to be sacred or magic in different cultures. Reverence for the power of trees goes back to primitive beliefs that gods and spirits inhabited them. The pine tree symbolises immortality and eternity. It also means marital happiness and harmony of pair of opposites. If I think the symbolic meaning of the tree bark is that it acts as a protection for the core part of the tree and needs to be shed from time to time for the tree to grow.

I created this necklace for people who prefer wearing lighter charms. I cut the original big charm in two so that you can wear it as a puzzle piece necklace if you purchase the medium-sized charm together as you can see on the listing images. The charm made me think of a dolphin or bird.
