Flannel is a handmade, hand-poured deep purple watercolor paint. It is a rustic purple with a brown undertone.

Pumpkin is a handmade, hand-poured bright orange matte watercolor. Pumpkin is a bold, saturated, rich orange with a red undertone.

Roasted Chestnut is a handmade, hand-poured matte brown watercolor paint. It is a deep, rich, cool brown.

Harvest is a handmade, hand-poured rich, saturated, harvest gold matte watercolor.

Cranberry Sauce is a handmade, hand-poured red berry mixed mica with matte watercolor paint. It is a very saturated, bold, bright magenta with gold mica sparkles throughout. I originally thought of naming this sparkling merlot.

Crunchy Leaves is a handmade, hand-poured green matte mica. Crunchy Leaves is a slightly muted, medium to deep green, with an olive undertone.

I mull small batches on a glass slab using a tried and true handmade watercolor binder formula (distilled water, gum arabic, glycerin, local honey, clove oil) that has been used throughout the ages to make watercolor. I fill every pan 2-3 times over the course of 2-3 weeks to allow each pour to fully cure. I overfill the tops of the pans 1-2 times as high as gravity will permit. Some formulas are more liquid, so they don’t allow to be overfilled as much as others.

Although I try my absolute hardest to use techniques that avoid bubbles and cracks, you may still come across them; neither of these will impact their quality or usability. The climate can also impact whether or not the pans become sticky or cracked (glycerin and honey are natural humectants, meaning they draw in moisture from the air around them). If you live in a humid environment, it’s possible your pans may have a slight tack to them. This also does not affect the paint. If you have difficulty unwrapping your pans, pop them in the freezer for about 10 minutes, and then you should be able to remove the wrapping easier.

These watercolors are handmade and hand-poured so each pan is unique. I use ethically sourced, cosmetic-grade mica. I try to avoid any toxic pigments simply because I do not feel comfortable using them. I do, however, use very small amounts of fluorescent pigments in some of the paints to get those fun, fluorescent colors you just can’t get in nature. Luckily a little pigment goes a long way. Additionally, once the pigment powder is turned into a paint, the finished paint no longer requires any special labeling.

For best use, pre-wet your watercolor with a drop or two of water, wait around 30 seconds to a minute, and then swirl the paint into your brush.
