How to plan
● Since red strawberry seeds grow best in weather, try to wait to sow seeds until the soil warms up in
the spring and all risk of frost has passed.
● Transplant red strawberry seeds for the fall season around 100 days before the first anticipated frost.
It will be simpler to grow red strawberry seeds from seed indoors and then transfer them outside.
● Plant 3–4 seeds per hole in a raised bed that is 6 inches tall, if direct sowing. In rows that
are separated by 4-5 feet, space holes 2-4 feet apart (from hole to hole). Rows should be
at least three feet apart for plants that are staked or caged. Rows should be spaced 4 to 5
feet apart for supporting plants.
● Plant 3–4 seeds in a container at a depth of 1/2 inch before transplanting. To avoid plants
from drying out too much and withering, it is better to transplant tomato plants in the
evening or on an overcast day.
● Pour water into the perforations, then wait for it to absorb. Carefully remove the plants
from their containers or flats and place them in the transplant holes.
● Set the transplants in the ground with a portion of the stem buried, just a little bit deeper
than it had been growing. Around the plant, tamp down the earth lightly. Each plant
should have a water-holding region that is slightly recessed. After planting, water the
