FAQ
1. Can I safely use a benkung wrap during pregnancy?
It's not recommended to wear tight wraps around your belly during pregnancy, as it can restrict blood circulation to the baby and put pressure on the lower body, which may pose a risk to both the mother and baby's health.
2. When is it safe to start wrapping after a vaginal birth?
It's recommended to wait until the fourth or fifth day after giving birth before starting to wrap. These first few days are intense for hormones, and it's best to focus on spending time with your baby during this period. Wrapping will still provide significant benefits when started after this time.
3. Can I safely wrap after a c-section?
It's recommended to wait until the incision is fully healed before putting any pressure on that area. Please consult with your doctor for more information.
4. What's the difference between a raw-edged and a serged-edged wrap?
A raw-edged wrap is a piece of cloth without any stitching on the sides, so you may notice some threads falling off initially. After several uses, these threads will stop falling or at least reduce significantly. We offer raw-edged wraps as a more affordable option. However, if you want a long-lasting wrap, we recommend going for serged-edged wraps. The overlock stitch on the sides prevents threads from falling and makes the benkung wrap look neat.
5. How do I care for my wrap?
Ideally, it's best to hand-wash the wrap in cold water and line dry it in the shade. If you want to wash it in the washing machine, please use a laundry bag to avoid it getting entangled with other clothes or itself. Do not dry the wrap in a dryer, as it may become entangled and develop lots of creases, making it difficult to iron. Instead, line dry the wrap by spreading it widthwise to create a hand-ironing effect.
