Ethiopian Opals Ethiopian opals should not be cleaned by steam, in an ultrasonic cleaner, or with any harsh cleaning agents. They should also not be cleaned with warm soapy water because of its hydrophane nature (meaning it absorbs water) Short-term contact with plain water does not tend to harm Ethiopian opals. If a hydrophane opal gets wet from rain or other cause, simply dry off surface with a clean cloth and then let the stone naturally air dry for 24-48 hours – any absorbed water will leave the stone and its play of color should be restored. Australian Opals Solid opal should be cleaned gently with mild detergent in warm water and a soft toothbrush or cloth. Avoid bleach, and other harsh chemicals.

Tariffs and Shipping to the USA

In response to the recent changes in shipping to the USA we've had to increase our rates a bit to take into account the 10% tariffs charged on all incoming goods, and the handing fees that the postal services charge on top of that. All our post to the USA will be DDP (delivery duty paid) which effectively means that we will pay the tariffs and other fees before shipping to you. Our standard shipping is Untracked. There is also an option to choose an upgrade to Tracked Normally orders going to the USA should take up to two weeks, but can take as long as 4 weeks with untracked post. Tracked will usually be quicker. Royal Mail does not consider a parcel to the USA as lost until a month has passed from the due date.

Returns and Exchanges

In the event of goods being unsuitable, a refund will be given, provided opalKobus receives notification from the customer within 14 days of receipt, and that the goods are returned unworn and in a new condition by Royal Mail signed for service. (or other trackable service if outside UK) If goods are damaged or lost in the post, it may be possible to make a claim on Royal mail if I am notified within 7 days of receipt for UK shipments and 7 days of receipt for export orders. In case goods are damaged, photographic proof will be needed for the insurance claim. I may also ask you to return the item (I will refund postage in this case) I will certainly do my best to resolve any issues to our mutual satisfaction.

Warranty Our items come with a 6-month warranty as standard. This covers manufacturing faults. In these instances, we can repair or replace. The 6-month warranty is void if damage is caused by customer mis-use. This includes damage caused by perfumes, chemicals, bleaching, heat exposure and general wear and tear. Tarnishing or discolouration due to chemical contact is not a fault. Our Care Cards lay out how best to take care of your treasures. Any damage to any items that exceed 6-months cannot be repaired or replaced

This is a made to measure surgical steel internally threaded labret, that will fit a 5mmmm round gemstone with a flat bottom like cabochons or rose cut gems. Resin or enamelling could also be an interesting option.

DETAILS

This labret is made from solid polished, internally threaded 316Lvm surgical steel.

Settting external diameter: 5.85mm approx
Setting internal diameter: 5.05mm
Setting height: 1.85mm
End disc: 3.85mm flat back
Bar Width: 16/14 gauge (1.2/1.6mm)

You can comfortably use a gem size between 4.95 and 5.10mm with very minor adjustment at most and use a suitable glue (epoxy works well) to set the gem. If the gem is slightly too large you can always use a dremel to reduce the diameter slightly or alter the internal setting size.

You can choose from 4 different bar lengths with this labret, 6, 8, 10, 12 mm (approx 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 inch). Please make this choice from the options in checkout
