Materials

Item # 220-1 is 14-1/2” wide x 14-1/2” (368mm x 368mm) Laminated Surface Book Press for pressing flat books, note pads, or similar items. With a 12” x 12” (305mm x 305mm) working area between the posts, there is lots of room to press your workpieces. We have improved the hole locations by using CNC equipment for exacting alignment of all components. The edges are finished with a robust PVC edge banding.
This style press can exert about 650-700 lbs (295-317kg) of compression without excessive cranking on the knobs.
Made from ¾” (18.5mm) thick Laminated surface plywood (for strength and rigidity) with PVC edge banding on the sides. The standard 6” long bolt kit (152mm) gives a total opening height of 4-1/4” (108mm), so thick or multiple stacks can be pressed flat at the same time. The table is 14-1/2” deep, but longer materials can be used as there is no depth restriction.
Note: Choose the standard 6" long Bolt Kit, or Optional 4" long Bolt Kit, or Both 6" and 4" Bolt Kits to complete your Press. Each Bolt Kit comes with four (4) Bolts of choice, (4) SS Washers, and (4) Felt Pads. Shorter or longer bolts are available upon request.
Additional Options now include four (4) mounted Rubber Feet screwed to the bottom of your press. We will quickly mount them at the time of order. You may also order the feet separately and mount them yourself if desired. (See Item # 211-1-RF)
The soft feel oversized knobs can be easily spun down holding everything firmly in place with minimal effort. No fighting with wing nuts & hurting fingers trying to get proper clamping pressure. Overall nominal dimensions: 14-1/2” wide x 14-1/2” deep x 6” high (top of bolt). Four plated 5/16-18 x 6” carriage bolts are threaded into steel thread inserts in the lower platen. The top platen is pressed down by using four oversized 2-1/2” (63mm) diameter polypropylene knobs with metal thread inserts for extra ease in clamping down tightly.

Light assembly is needed, although no tools are required.
