***This is the Learn-to-Sew version of my Blanket Hoodie. Instructions are made to suit even the newest of newbies! See the reviews for this pattern over at my other store: https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/TheMagicNeedleOnline
Is it cold and dreary outside your window? Time to make yourself a big, ole, scrummy hibernation outfit. This huge oversized hoodie sewing pattern is the single layer learn-to-sew version of my Blanket Hoodie pattern. It is made from super yummy fleece and can even be made from those cheap fleece blankets you can get from places like Ikea. In fact, that’s what I used for the one you see in the pictures.
The body of the hoodie measures 110cm (43”) from front neck to bottom hem and 100cm (39”) wide and will fit an adult up to a men’s 6XL size. There are instructions to reduce the body size to fit a tween or smaller adult if preferred.
This hoodie is a really easy way to learn to make your own clothes. You get to learn essential skills like
• Fitting a sleeve into an armhole
• Basic garment construction
• Hemming
• Applying a cuff
• Increasing or decreasing garment size
But, importantly for a beginner, as it’s such a loose-fitting item, no-one’s going to know if you make a little mistake here and there. All the pressure’s off!
