This Yokote teapot was designed by Osamu Saruyama and made by Takashi Touen in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, which is a major production area for teapots. The round shape allows the tea leaves to spread freely for brewing. It comes with an integrated fine-mesh ceramic strainer.

The teapot is oxidized during the final firing process that turns the iron compounds within the clay to a lustrous black color. The thermodynamic features of Tokoname's iron-rich clay are most ideally suited for Japanese green teas but also work well for white teas. Azmaya hallmark is engraved on the bottom. Each teapot comes packaged in a paper box.
