Many of our fabrics are machine wash and dry safe, but not all of them. Please contact us if you need specific details. We suggest cold water and mild detergent.

Can I return an item?

Sometimes, it depends. We do not accept returns on used items, books, and packages that have been opened and handled, such as sewing needles. If you want to discuss a return, please contact us here on Etsy and we'll see what we can do.

Where do you get your items?

Nearly everything we sell is imported from Japan to our shop in the USA. We work directly with Japanese companies large and small to bring you unique and beautiful items, and we love working with small artisan producers in Tokyo, Kyoto, and other cities.

USPS lost my package! What do I do?

Please contact us with your concern and we will file a missing package report with USPS on your behalf. It takes time to locate lost packages, so please understand that while we are doing our best, we cannot find your package and get it to you right away. We have to work with the system just like everybody else. And that takes time!

Gift wrapping and packaging

We are currently working to phase out our non-recyclable packaging one step at a time. Many of our products come to us from Japan already wrapped in plastic, but we are working with some companies to reduce the plastic packaging on products we order from them. It's a gradual process.

Made in Japan. The mill that produces this fabric has been making this type of fabric for decades, and is one of the few left in Japan.

Cost is $98 per yard. Yes, it's expensive! It's lightweight but substantial, dyed with natural indigo, and feels amazing. Suitable for garments including pants and jackets.

Sold in HALF YARD increments - 18" x 44". We cut continuous yardage from the bolt, so order the quantity of half yard units you need and you will receive a single length.

Natural indigo MAY BLEED onto your laundry and other clothing, so please be aware and wash separately. Even when dry, indigo may rub off onto other cloth but should wash out.
