Soekapoera Handcrafted Batik.
Full hand-drawn by the local artisans indigenous to the people of Tasikmalaya, with unique motifs and colours of Soekapoera that only consists of maroon, dark blue, pastel yellow and white.
Batik is an Intangible Cultural Heritage piece. An art piece that has been passed on for generations from its design to the motifs to the dyeing process.
Motif design : Bamboo & Cendrawasih
Motif meaning: Indonesian fighters use sharpened bamboo to battle in the war of independence. Cendrawasih Bird are representatives of Gods & Goddesses of the Moon, also as clarity in sight & listening, and the act of kindness.
Batik making: -/+ 2 weeks, cotton dyeing, hand-drawing and waxing.
Please be kindly informed that:
1. The traditional batik workshop originally located at the rural area outside town of Tasikmalaya. It takes time for production and delivery.
2. We trust our national post office for delivery and it is the only option in town. Please message if you want to request a delivery service, we will try our best to fulfill it.
3. Batik Tulis Soekapoera is never duplicated, stamped or printed. It is FULL HAND-DRAWN AUTHENTICALLY by each local artisan which makes every piece special and unique.
4. Product color may differ slightly from how it appears on your screen due to lighting and varying monitor settings.
