This is such a sweet and lovely vintage skirt! It is French and dates to the 1930s-1940s. The skirt is made of a beautiful medium weight cotton and perhaps rayon fabric. The skirt is smooth and soft to the touch and is just so sweet! The pockets have a unique design as shown in photos and button closed. The skirt has a slightly boned waistband, I believe to prevent the waist from folding on itself. The skirt has a snap and hook and eye closure and looks to be a combination of machine and hand stitched. An absolutely lovely vintage skirt, perfect for wear or for costuming and study!

MEASUREMENTS: This gorgeous vintage French skirt measures approximately:
Waist: 13 inches laid flat (26 around)
Hips: 19.5 inches laid flat (39 around)
Length: 34 inches in the front, 36 inches in the back

CONDITION : This lovely textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. There are some age marks and other stains that may be rust I am unsure. I think washing this skirt would make a difference, but it is hard to say! There are some areas along the waistband that are beginning to show wear, but the textile is still in usable condition! This textile is in wonderful condition for its age and use. All antique and vintage textiles have light signs of time and use, often inherent in these wonderful antique finds!
