You will receive 25 Seeds from our stunning Orange Cosmos Flowers growing in sunny Florida. Home grown naturally using regenerative growing methods with lots of love and zero chemicals, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. The seeds are from our most recent harvest and are fresh viable seeds ready to plant.

Growing Info & Tips
The Bright Lights Orange Cosmos are a beautiful annual flower to have growing in your garden. They add a burst of color while being light and airy. In full sun they can grow up to 5ft+ tall, often times they are taller than me! The flowers are fantastic at attracting pollinators including butterflies and hummingbirds. They are easy to grow and they will self-seed (if you let them). The flowers measure approx. 2.5” in diameter. They do well in most soils and are rather drought tolerant. I have found them to do very well here in Florida, even through the heat of the summer. I love to grow these in and near our veggie patches!

For Sowing the Cosmos Flower Seeds:
Cosmos seeds are best grown directly outside by sowing them in early to mid-spring after the last frost has passed. You can also grow them in pots. They require full sun, fairly warm temps (70-75 degrees F) and moderate moisture. Sow the seeds ¼” deep and space them 8-10” apart. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. Seeds can take 7-10 days to germinate so be patient. Once established and blooming Cosmos will self seed, so you may want to plant them in a place where you don’t mind that happening or be diligent about pruning them. Removing spent blooms will prolong their blooming season.

Uses
Cosmos have a variety of uses. The petals are yummy and can be used in baking or cake decorating or simply added to your salads. Yummy! I like to make an infused oil or salve with cosmos flowers to use for massage. Cosmos also make beautiful cut flowers for flower arrangements & if you are gardening with children they are a good choice to grow with them as the seeds are rather large and easy to handle.

Please Note: All of my seeds are fresh and viable. Growing from seed is fun! The majority of the time it is a success but sometimes it’s not. This just is the way it is with nature and gardening.
