These commercially tanned skins are 2-3 oz. in weight (thickness) and are soft and pliable. The grain has been buffed (but not removed) to give it a soft mate feel/finish. Braintan is the color. They can be smoked to give them the look/smell of traditional braintanned leather.

They are processed for the suede side so they have been buffed smooth and level. The grain sides will have some blemishes, etc. Any footage marks will be low on the neck portion to give you the largest useable area.

These hides are made to resemble old time brain tanned hides so some natural blemishes, etc., are to be expected. They may vary in shape, shade, etc., from the photos.
