Unusual rectangular scenic agate pendant, a picture agate piece with distinct shapes in fine detail and high contrast, that look like an intriguing garden!

Scenic dendritic agate is sometimes called ‘picture stone’ or ‘painted stone’. It can be translucent and has plant and fern-like markings in it (known as ‘dendrites’ – these are made of iron and/or manganese). It is one of the rarer varieties of agate and the dendrites crystallise inside the agate, forming the organic plant shapes.

This gemstone pendant is set in 925 sterling silver and the scene is of a stunning and highly detailed garden of plants, with great contrast. The scenic dendritic agate is visible in daylight but blends well on skin due to its semi-translucency. The pendant measures approximately 28mm (1”) from the top of the bail to the base and is 20mm across at the widest point.
