Choose your crystals!:
1. MOONSTONE: Moonstone is a naturally occurring semi precious gemstone which looks clear to white from some angles, and then from other angles, has an iridescent blue sheen running thru it, also known as a "flash"! This iridescent sheen is caused by the diffraction of light off of micro-fractures within its many feldspar layers. Moonstone has been used in jewelry dating back to ancient civilizations. The Romans believed moonstone was actually crystalized rays of the moon! Many cultures have believed that moonstone harnesses the energy of the moon and passes that energy onto its wearer, bringing harmony, balance, and calm. *Black tourmaline is a naturally occurring mineral deposit which grows inside moonstone. Even though these are not the “black spotted moonstone”, which have obvious larger black spots, regular moonstone can have very tiny black tourmaline inclusions as well.
2. BLACK SPOTTED MOONSTONE: Moonstone is a naturally occurring semi precious gemstone which looks clear to white from some angles, and then from other angles, has an iridescent blue sheen running thru it, also known as a "flash"! This iridescent sheen is caused by the diffraction of light within its many feldspar layers. This particular moonstone is spotted with black tourmaline inclusions which give the stones tons of contrast & character!
3. LABRADORITE: Labradorite is a natural feldspar crystal mainly found in Canada & Norway. The stone appears dark from some angles, but when turned to other angles, it has an amazing iridescent blue / green flash running thru it. This iridescence is caused by the diffraction of light passing thru tiny micro fractures and cracks in the crystal's many layers. Fracture lines in the stones are natural and what give it its fabulous iridescence! Due to the nature of the crystal, no two crystals are the same and each has its own unique flash pattern. Turn your crystal back and forth in the sunlight to see the amazing flash at its best & brightest!
4. CITRINE: Citrine is a rare variety of quartz which ranges from a pale yellow to golden. Quartz is considered a power stone. It has been called the "Universal Crystal" because of its many uses. It is said to absorb, amplify, transmit, and balance energy.
5. LAPIS LAZULI is a royal blue metamorphic rock which has been prized since ancient times for its rich blue color. Lapis Lazuli was found and used in the Middle East as early as 6000 BC. It was used in the creation of the golden burial masks found in the ancient Egyptian tombs, which were buried with the mummified Pharaohs. It is inlaid in the famous "Mask of Tutankhamun" (King Tut), the most recognizable and well known artifact of ancient Egypt. In the Middle Ages, Lapis Lazuli was ground into a powder and used as the finest and most expensive of all blue pigments, and was used in renaissance paintings. Lapis was also used in the famous Faberge eggs gifted to the Royal Russian family (the Romanovs) in the 1800s. Often nicknamed, the "Stone of Truth", Lapis Lazuli was believed to promote honesty, truth-telling, and the desire for knowledge, as well as enhancing one's memory.
6. BUMBLEBEE JASPER: Bumble bee jasper is a complex calcium carbonate mineral. The bands of yellow and black are reminiscent of a bumblebee, hence the name. These colors are caused by inclusions of sulfur (yellow), calcium & Aragonite (white), and Pyrite (black). This rare combination of minerals can only be found at the Papandayan Volcano in West Java Province, Indonesia. This stone is thought by some to increase energy and aid in maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude.
7. RUTILATED QUARTZ: A rare variety of quartz which contains needle-like inclusions of rutile, a mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide. These rutile inclusions resemble golden strands of hair criss-crossing throughout the clear quartz. This is why golden rutilated quartz is often referred to as "Angel’s Hair Quartz". While other inclusions often reduce the value of a crystal, rutilated quartz is rare and valued for the quality and beauty of these inclusions, making it quite a bit more expensive than normal quartz.
8. Garnet
9. Smoky Quartz
10. Amazonite
11. Amethyst
12. Blue lace agate
13. Emerald
14. Rose Quartz
*Internal fracture lines and inclusions in real crystals are NORMAL and are not signs of damage. These fracture lines are actually what cause the iridescence in feldspar minerals such as moonstone and labradorite. They also give the stones character and show that they are real! :)
