This is a digital sewing pattern. You will receive 3 PDF files: 1 with detailed, step-by-step instructions, 1 with full size pattern pieces that can be printed on letter or A4 size paper, and 1 A0 file for those who prefer to print at a copyshop. The PDF files are available for instant download. If you are printing at home, there are 15 pages to print.

This pattern includes written instructions in English only + technical illustrations. I have made 4 videos to accompany the pattern (covering the trickiest parts) but there is not a video for the entire pattern at this time. You can view the videos on the Kindred Sewls YouTube channel.

Skill Level: INTERMEDIATE

Prior bag making experience including experience in the following is recommended:
-Sewing thick layers of fabric
-Sewing around curves
-Easing a gusset
-Installing zippers
-Installing snaps
-Sewing bias tape

The Charlie Sling Bag sewing pattern comes with 3 front pocket options:
-View A has a pleated pocket with a flap/snap closure
-View B has an asymmetrical zippered pocket
-View C has a front slip pocket with a snap closure

All views feature the following:
-1 interior zippered pocket (5" zipper)
-1 back security pocket (5" zipper)
-Adjustable crossbody strap (1.5" wide)
-Head-to-head zipper closure

Finished dimensions: 7.5" W x 12.5" H x 3" D

Recommended Fabric: Medium weight canvas or similar woven fabric for the exterior. Quilting weight cotton for lining.

This bag was bigger than I expected but the instructions were very clear. It was easy to make. (The canvas I chose to use was a bit thick...but that's on me, not the pattern!) I'm super happy. I'm glad I made it!

I just finished making my first bag using the Charlie sling pattern, and it was fantastic! I was very intimidated by the end product, and all the steps included, totally scared that I wouldn't be able to do it. But the directions were PERFECT, and I really, really appreciated the accompanying videos. My bag turned out amazing, and I'm still so proud of it. *I* made a few mistakes, and a few changes, but those are not the pattern maker's fault.
