Seller's description

Stunning late 1940s - early 1950s evening jacket. Pearly cream silk satin done in trapunto in an abstract squiggly motif. This is a great structural piece. It has an open, tent-like fit, with sloped shoulders and dolman sleeves culminating in lots of volume. Splendid in the slight, this would be a great wedding piece. Truest color in first photo.

Seam to seam across back at underarm: 22.5"
Length: 30.5"

Condition: Wearable and stunning. Presents beautifully. The silk in some areas is missing between the embroidery, but it is extremely difficult to see. There is a wool layer underneath which gives the trapunto its puffy shape, and this is the same color, so you can't tell any silk is missing unless you are looking very closely. See closeups and click to zoom. The squiggly stitching throughout these areas ensures that the functionality and wear of the piece is not affected by the satin.
