All my ads are ORIGINAL and in good condition with no rips/tears unless mentioned or shown in the photograph. I source them myself from magazines that are not in good sellable shape. I am a huge ephemera lover and while I prefer to sell a book or magazine intact, the bottom line is some are just too far gone but there are still parts of the periodical or book to salvage. I do think it is fun to frame them, or use them in art projects. Many of these magazines were sold by the thousands. And those ads are too wonderful not to save and admire! I worked in the museum of art in Philadelphia, in the prints and photographs department no less, I can assure you they are well stocked with vintage ephemera, plus digital files are everywhere now.
All ads are shipped to you in a clear cello sleeve. They are shipped safely in tubes. You can frame, display or store and collect these wonderful vintage ads. Take them out as soon as you receive them. Tubes are far safer, more costly, but far safer. I do not like to tape them shut as its one more thing to snag on the item and tear it. I also do not send them flat with cardboard as its not archival. The item should be kept flat until ready to use it.
See photos for sizing, condition, etc. Enlarge the images on your device. It can be helpful to see details more clearly. Message me ANY questions. I try not to list a ton of redundant info about the items pictured as I try to make sure the pictures/title/description tell enough of the story. All items I sell are checked for flaws seen by the naked eye. Pieces are typically pre-owned, hand-picked by me and will show signs of wear. This is considered normal. If anything is above and beyond this, I will note it and/or photograph it. I prefer there be no surprises. A happy, repeat customer is always my goal!
NOTE ABOUT VINTAGE:
These items are in many cases 20 to 80 years old. They have been loved, worn, used and will in many cases, show signs of wear. This is considered normal. I rarely, if ever use the word pristine, excellent or like new, especially when talking about vintage. It sets up the expectation the item is like brand new. Jewelry and hats can show patina and/or wear, and often does. Oils from our skin can impact the item over the years.
I sometimes use words like good/great working condition, great item, beautiful, lovely, stunning, etc. This again, does not mean perfect, untouched, or pristine. It means that as a reseller of vintage items I SEE and RESEARCH what else is out there and am offering an opinion. Your opinion may differ, as opinions often do, that’s where you need to be diligent about asking specific questions and researching it on your own too, so that YOU have a comfort level with your bid and purchase.
I prefer to sell items that do not have loose stones or crystals, or pins that come undone in a second! If this happens, I will disclose this to you.
Seeking out things to add to my shop Good Energy Treasures on Etsy and on eBay is a passion of mine. As a fine artist and collector, myself, I know a thing or two about the creative process and well-made objects. There are so many wonderful things to make us smile and bring pleasure to life that do not have to cost hundreds.
