Circular hinged glass floor wine cellar! Our wine cellar display lid is set into your recess and opens with gas-struts. The glass is structural and safe to walk on and these units are used for wine storage and display / access hatches !

We supply the door system only, what happens beneath is up to you.
Both photo example projects are 1000mm diameter

This system is manual (gas struts) but ask about our electric version for more information.

Our hinged walk on glass framework system comes with structural walk-on glass panel, fully sealed within a hinged gas-strut opening steel framework. The gas struts allow for assisted opening and safe slow closing.
All our hinged floors are made to order, to suit your opening sizes. The sizes you order will be the tight opening size of the floor recess. The frame will then lip over this all sides and be self-supporting with installation tolerance built into the design.

Once ordered a drawing will be provided based on your sizes to fully check prior to manufacture.

The product comprises :
25.5mm toughened and laminated structural glass panel
50mm backpainted black borders
Powdercoated black steel framework with hinged, gas-strut opening mechanism
Integrated handle cut outs built into the outer frame.
Black as standard, ask for any other colour.

Our hinged walk on glass trap door systems are commonly used as basement doors, wine cellars and storage display units. They are not designed for access to habitable rooms and consideration should be taken by the end user for its intended application and risk management applied.

All the hinged floor frames and glass are made to order and usually take 8-10 weeks to complete.

The frames are not designed to be watertight and external use is not advised.

Please contact us for any bespoke variations required.

Our steel frameworks are fully certified to BS 1090-2 and the glass is designed to a concentrated load of 2.0kN and in accordance with BS EN 1991-1-1 2002.

*Although this particular customer used in conjunction with a spiral staircase for infrequent access you must be mindful that the area will be tight for space and headroom, and not function as a seamless spiral stair interaction- the reduced room, limited access and exclusion of handrails above floor level would all render such to be non-compliant with building regulations and should be used in this manner only at your own risk
