I love making these. I hand made these, stitching them together with a needle and black upholstery thread. Each signature has been cut by hand to conform to the individual curves of each half of the shell.

This journal has 42 separate writable surfaces, including the end pieces which are attached to the seashell. The paper I used is 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper. Perfect gifts for art loving or artist friends. Truly unique watercolor journals for painting, sketching or journaling.
The size of this journal is about 4 inches x 3 3/4 inches x 2 1/4 inches. This is a one of a kind piece. The shells themselves have imperfections which are reflective of the turbulent nature of the sea. As natural objects the shells have small imperfections like chips and slight variations in color and texture which I select for because I feel this makes them more beautiful and organic, adding to the charm and the handmade quality of the book.
