What kind of paint do you use?

We use a flat, water-based paint in our own custom colors. We use rollers to apply the paint, which we've found to leave a more uniform surface and avoids brush marks. For our "Old" finish, we apply a single coat of paint, then distress the edges by sanding and staining. For our "Solid" finish, we apply two coats of paint.

What types of wood do you use?

Our products are made from solid knotty pine. Pine is a softwood that will show dents, marks, and scratches. It is an ideal wood for our rustic aesthetic, and these imperfections are considered not only acceptable, but part of the piece's charm. On products with door panels and beadboard backers we use compressed wood, hardboard, or wainscoting for those components.

Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Vigorous scrubbing may damage the finish. Coasters are recommended for any surface holding drinks. Pieces with a coat of polyurethane can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Where do you ship to?

We ship to the continental US for free. Shipping to AK and HI is 50% off. If you are outside the United States, please message us for a shipping quote before buying.

Do you accept returns?

Yes, we accept returns unless otherwise stated on the individual product page. In general, returns must be initiated within 7 days, and return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Each bookcase is made by hand and to order. That means your bookcase hasn’t been made yet, but we’ll get started on it once you place your order! Expect a freshly painted and/or stained piece when you open your package. As with any hand-painted and stained wood, you may notice some odor, but leaving it open in a well-ventilated area will help the smell dissipate.

MODERN RUSTIC DESIGN
We do not use highly-processed wood. You can expect knots and minor imperfections that make every bookcase unique. Each piece is crafted from genuine solid knotty pine wood with unique grain patterns, shades, and textures. Stained pieces in particular will vary in color, as every tree is unique by nature. We use screws and wood plugs for solid construction. Though most of our pieces are 100% solid knotty pine, products with door panels and beadboard backers use compressed wood, hardboard, or wainscoting for those components.

This piece ships in three pieces with minor assembly required. Instructions are included.

Save your packaging! Damages must be reported within 7 days. Because each of our pieces are made to order, returns must be made within 7 days and return shipping is the buyer's responsibility. Returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

TO SECURE TO WALL:
1. Find the studs in your wall and mark them with a pencil.
2. Find the solid wood brace just below the top of the bookcase. (see pics)
3. Put the bookcase where you want it and mark the location of studs on the brace.
4. Take a 1/4" drill bit and drill through the brace and into the wall, hitting the studs from step 1.
• Make sure to screw through the solid wood brace, not just the beadboard!
5. Once holes are made, use 3" screws (included) to secure bookcase to wall.

We do not pre-drill these holes because every placement will vary.

This sweet, beautiful little bookshelf is sturdy and adds pizzazz to any room. My Wife and I love it, in fact, we love it so much this is our second one and it’s just as great as the first one. Thank you guys so much recommended to anyone looking for a smaller bookshelf that can fit nicely into many different arenas of the apartment.

This custom-made burnt orange bookshelf is gorgeous! We love it. The only thing I will say for people to know is that it is for smaller books not large tall books, but anybody who looks at the measurements would know that… No complaints absolutely gorgeous. We love it.
