Tissue-weight Unryu, sometimes called mulberry, is extremely beautiful. Fibrous and richly surfaced, Unryu features long strands of kozo fiber from the mulberry tree. Also referred to as "mulberry" or “rice paper”, its translucence allows these fibers to be seen on both sides of each sheet.

I've included a sheet of something NEW. Its a sheet of cool translucent paper featuring coarse hand-placed spiral threads. yours may be a different color from the one pictured. What to do with this stuff?? Dream something up and send me photos!

Note: I don't necessarily recommend Unryu for marbling. It's thinness prevents it from absorbing enough paint for intense color, and also makes it difficult to lift out of the marbling bath in one piece! But if you like subtle color and are up for the challenge, it can be done.
