A rectangular jewelry box made of camel bone, measuring 6.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm, crafted and hand-painted with exquisitely detailed miniature designs using cat-hair brushes. The luxurious art of illumination, or "tazhib," is employed, with gold taking center stage. Colorful and beautiful floral and geometric patterns adorn every corner of the piece, all coated with a protective varnish that provides the unmistakable luster characteristic of this type of work.
The tibia bone is typically used to create these works of art. It is treated in specialized workshops through a lengthy and arduous process involving the application of various chemicals to achieve a perfectly clean finish. The material is then cut to the desired shape, sanded, and after the design is sketched in pencil, it is painted with natural pigments.
