Handmade

Gather up your fabric scraps and make Calico Cottages. The finished size of the quilt is 62" x 62". The finished block size is 10" x 10". The little foundation-pieced cottages finish at 3" x 3". You can easily make this quilt larger for use on your bed of make it into a smaller wall hanging. Whatever you choose, it is going to be a stunning quilt. The pattern includes a sheet for the foundation-pieced houses, and a sheet of templates if you do not want to paper-piece. With a block this size, I strongly encourage you to paper-piece the 3" cottage block. I made my quilt using only Marcus Fabrics from their many beautiful reproduction fabric lines.

Fabric Requirements:
½ Yard Light Background for cottages
22 assorted medium and dark fat 1/8’s for cottages, strips around the cottages, and 9 patches
¾ Yard assorted lights for sashing and 9 patches
⅛ Yard black for posts
1⅝ Yard red for setting and corner triangles and border
⅓ Yard blue for inner border
4 Yards for backing and batting
