Spicula Sweater is a chunky and oversized, comfy style sweater.
Sweater is designed with mockneck, adjusted length for body and sleeves and oversized fit for comfortable wear.
Small cables start right at the neck and move along the yoke merging in raglan lines.
Sweater is worked pretty fast using chunky yarn and larger needles.
It’s perfect for everyday wear over your favorite dresses or with jeans.

Sweater is worked top down seamlessly in the round with raglan increases on the yoke.
Once the yoke is ready, sleeves stitches are placed on hold and the body continues to work in the round to the hem.
Sleeves are worked in the round after the body is ready.
Both sleeves and body are finished with delicate ribbing.
The length of the body and sleeves can be easily adjusted to desired length.

XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL)

Finished measurements
Bust circumferences – 95 (102, 108, 115, 125, 132, 138) cm / 37.5 (40.25, 42.5, 45.25, 49.25, 52.0, 54.5)’’;
Intended to be worn with 15-20 cm / 6 - 8’ of positive ease already included in the bust circumferences;
Length – 47 (48, 50, 52, 54, 55, 57) cm / 18.5 (19.0, 19.75, 20.5, 21.25, 21.75, 22.5)’’;
Length measures at center front, below the neckline.
Upper arms circumferences –39 (43, 44, 46, 51, 56, 59) cm / 15.5 (17.0, 17.5, 18.25, 20.0, 22.0, 23.25)’’;
Sleeve length (from underarm) – 38 (38, 39, 39, 40, 40, 40) cm /15.0 (15.0, 15,5, 15.5, 15.75, 15.75, 15.75)’’;
Length of the body and sleeves can be easily adjusted to desired length.
Sample shown on 86 cm / 34’’ bust; beige sweater, size S with 16 cm / 6.5’’ of positive ease.

Needles
Circular 6 mm (US 10) 40-50 cm (16-20)’’ and 80-100 cm (32-40)’’ long for magic loop;
Circular 8 mm (US 11) 40-50 cm (16-20)’’ and 80-100 cm (32-40)’’ long for magic loop;
Dpns 6mm (US 10) and 8 mm (US11) for sleeves if you prefer this method (optional).
Or needle size needed to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: tapestry needle, cable needle, 4 stitch markers, scrap yarn or stitch holders.

Original yarn
Approx 9 (10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16) balls / 450 (500, 550, 600, 650, 750, 800) g of Peru Yarna (45% merino wool, 25% baby alpaca, 30% polyamide; 50g / 1.8oz – 60m / 66 yds);
If you decide to make sweater longer, you need more yarn than estimated.
Suggested yarn: aran weight yarn worked held two strands of yarn together or bulky weight yarn worked single-stranded in case to obtain the required gauge. Similar chunky yarn to use in this pattern - We are knitters The Petite Wool /Lion Brand Hue + Me /Cascade Yarns 128 Superwash /Ístex Álafosslopi.

Gauge
12 sts x 17 rnds = 10cm (4’’) in St st in the rnd on larger needles after blocking.
