The Peony Dress is a digital PDF sewing pattern for a womens gathered maxi dress with spaghetti straps, empire waist and elasticated back panel, perfect for easy summer outfits.

Our model’s measurements are 80cm (31.5”) bust, 65cm (25.6”) waist and 90cm (35.4”) hips and she wears a size S.

For a casual look, use the Peony Dress pattern with light to medium weight woven fabrics such as rayons, cottons and linens. For a more dressy look, you could try something with a beautiful sheen like a jacquard. Our model wears the Peony Dress in a cotton and linen blend (in cream), rayon (in mustard print) and cotton (in black). As a guide only, we suggest required meterage is as follows:
• For 110cm (43.3") width fabric - size XS requires 250cm (2.8 yards), size XL requires 340cm (3.8 yards).
• For 150cm (59.1") width fabric - size XS requires 215cm (2.4 yards), size XL requires 230cm (2.6 yards).

After making your purchase, you will be sent the following files:
• Instruction file – printing and sewing instructions for your pattern;
• A0 Copy of the pattern (1 file) – for printing at your local copy shop; and
• Print at Home pattern (1 file) – for printing and assembly at home.

The top comes in 5 sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL. Please check the size chart to determine which size is most appropriate.

At a minimum, you’ll need the following tools to make this dress: Fabric, elastic, pins, scissors, sewing machine, ruler, iron, matching thread, safety pins, fabric markers, loop turns and seam ripper. An overlocker is optional.

This pattern includes 6 pieces which all include a 1.5cm (3/5") seam allowance unless stated otherwise in the sewing instructions:
• Bodice front—cut 1 pair.
• Bodice side back —cut 2 pairs.
• Elasticated back panel—cut 1.
• Shoulder straps—cut 1 pair.
• Pocket—cut 2 pairs.
• Skirt front and back—cut 1 pair.
