Highlights

  • Made by LembergShop
  • Materials: hardened high carbon steel, leather

For the first time, flat-hinged visors on bacinets appeared at the beginning of the 14th century, and with their geometry, they repeat the front part of the helmet that was more popular at that time, which we conventionally call topfhelm (pot-shaped helmet).
Later, we can find a similar view on the English tombstones and synchronous images of the “Roman of Alexander” and the “Holdem Bible”. This is already the 40s of the 14th
century.
In the 80s of the 14th century, there was the discovery of the bascinets in Halkis, which, with their geometry and geometry most closely resembled miniatures in the Balduin Trier Codex of the beginning of the century.

The opening visor can be lifted between the combats for air and water drinking, and it stays lifted without holding. The soft padding inside is amortized and hits well, and two leather belts hold the helm reliably on the head. The additional belt on the back can be attached to your brigandine to prevent neck injuries. Each took two fasteners: a leather strap that matches historical accuracy and a hidden button that completely prevents the helmet from being accidentally opened in battle, even when the skin is cut.

The historical form and type of fastener fully comply with the requirements of Buhurt International and IMCF and are quite suitable for the historical reenactment of the set of armor of 1380-1410.

Material: hardened high carbon steel + riveted chain mail aventail + padded fabric gambeson;
The thickness of the top 2,5 mm Visor 1,5 mm (hardened high carbon steel too);
Weight approximately 7,5-8kg ;
The helmet is fully ready to use. Padded coif and aventail with all leather attachments are included in the price.
Term of production: needs clarification at the time of ordering.

They were designed specifically for full-contact combat.
Can be used in Buhurt International and IMCF full contact, Historical reenactment, and SCA. For cosplay costumes and role-playing games.

A few words about the thickness of the helmet:
For full contact with Buhurt International and IMCF, we recommend a 2.5 mm non-hardened dome. Since it is precisely this option that holds well even the strongest blows, and during critical damage, he kneads and does not crack. What makes it safer and more durable.

For any other thickness of helmet, please contact us and place a custom order.

All helmets are made in our workshop and have high-quality Ukrainian armor. There is always a rather long line for helmets, but we do our best to reduce the waiting time for you:)
