This is the most complete vintage book on herbal plants, flowers and remedies I have ever come across! This 461 page book contains countless plants and flowers with all of their medicinal uses, as well as an index listing them all alphabetically for easy reference. What's also super cool is the herbal remedies listed by ailment. So you can alphabetically look up certain illnesses and it will refer you to the page in the book with the plant remedies that may help. Awesome vintage book, especially if you are into plant medicine, natural cures, essential oils etc.

Nicholas Culpeper was an English botanist, herbalist, physician and astrologer. Culpeper attempted to make medical treatments more accessible to lay persons by educating them about maintaining their health. Ultimately his ambition was to reform the system of medicine by questioning traditional methods and knowledge and exploring new solutions for disease. The systemization of the use of herbals by Culpeper was key in the evolution of modern pharmaceuticals, most of which originally had herbal origins.

The color illustrations in the front of the book add a cool element as well. Please keep in mind this is a digital scanned version of a very old book, so although the text pages look very good, I wish the color illustrations were a bit higher resolution, but this is the best version I could find. :-)

Disclaimer: Although the information in this book is very fascinating, PLEASE be very careful with plant medicine. This book is from 1850, medicinal knowledge has come a long way since then, so some of the information in this book may be outdated or even dangerous! Use common sense and don't just ingest plants because a book from 1850 told you it was safe, lol. :-)
