Handmade at Heartwood Homestead Farm, nestled in the Southern Adirondack Mountains of New York.

This style of basket was common in Europe, particularly Britain, and made its way across the Atlantic when settlers began moving to the Americas. Bring with them their baskets and the knowledge of their construction, the methods have been passed down through the generations and ribbed baskets continue to be popular in the Appalachian region. Here, it has been adapted with a strap for foraging.

It features a bent hardwood rim and is handmade using reed/rattan and traditional ribbed basket weaving methods.

Small (S): measures approximately 6”x9” top hoop, 6” deep, 10” overall. Finished with an oil-based stain, adjustable black vegan leather strap.

Large(L): each basket measures approximately 12”x 7” top hoop, 7.5” deep (green is 7” deep), 13” overall length. Finished with an oil-based stain, adjustable cotton strap.
