The craftsmanship on the clock face is excellent; however, the AA battery in the mechanism does not have enough power to run the clock. I contacted TomasStoreCo and described the issue. Initially, the maker felt that perhaps the mechanism was damaged in shipping. He immediately sent a new mechanism which I used to replace the original one. The clock kept accurate time for a couple of hours (The battery I used was a newly purchased battery) and then quit keeping time once it reached half past the hour. It seems that the mechanism with a AA battery does not have enough power to move the minute hand up from the :30 position. I can hear the ticking of the mechanism, the minute hand attempts to move, but does not. UPDATE: Issues resolved-purchased a "C" battery mechanism-TOMAS REFUNDED ME FOR NEW MECHANISM. CLOCK IS WONDERFUL!!
