Vintage Set of 9 Pin-Up/ Nudie Drinking Glasses- Art Deco- Peek-a-boo Glasses- Gift Man- Man Cave Barware- Vintage Pin- Up Gift- Vintage Barware. These are so fun! This is a very cool set of 9 glasses- 8 drinking glasses and 1 shot glass all of Art Deco era pin-up girls who's clothes come off when looking at them from the back and potentially in cold water. Naughty Peek a Boo glasses were at the height of popularity during the late 1940's to mid 1960's. They have decals and were made by most of the popular glass- making companies- Federal Glass- Anchor Hocking- Libby, etc.
These particular glasses have the women in their different garb- a geisha, a golfer, a Scottish lass, a bride, etc. and when looking at them from the back, the detail shows them sans clothes hidden within the exterior decal. Some of them also show through the front without clothes when filled with cold water. I don't know if these do that. Those are Mystic glasses/ Mystic decals. No maker's mark that I can see on these glasses.
These are very hard to find, especially such a large set and in such good condition. These measure 4 1/2'' tall and the opening diameter is 2 1/2''. They hold 8 fl oz. There is one with a gold rim and it's just a touch taller than the rest. The shot glass measures 2 1/8'' tall and is tapered with the opening measuring 2''. These glasses are in very good condition. No chips, cracks. The decals are all intact and in great color. The only one I'm not sure about is the woman with the blue/ red dress. There is a blue piece of decal near her feet, unknown if it is complete.
If you are going to use these glasses to drink from you should not use the dishwasher or very hot or very cold water. Wash around decals very delicately to preserve them. Handwash only for sure. Amazing one-of-a-kind set! These won't be around for long! Free domestic shipping with USPS Priority Mail, 1-3 days. I will pay for insurance to ship these. **If they would happen to get damaged during shipping, claim can only be made with pictures of items and box as well as shipping the items back to me (even if broken) potentially per USPS claim rules.
