Poster featuring the 45 lighthouses of the Estuary and Gulf of the St. Lawrence River.
It took me 11 years to photograph each of these lighthouses, from 2007 to 2018. During this period, I visited the North Shore, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie and the Magdalen Islands , Chaudière-Appalaches, Charlevoix, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Anticosti. I traveled more than 25,000 kilometers of Quebec roads and navigated our river to reach 13 different islands.
In total, I took more than 28,000 photos, using 4 different cameras, not counting those captured using a smartphone. These photos have been exhibited in 6 different places, including 3 museums and as far away as Reunion Island in East Africa. They have been published in more than thirty books, magazines, journals, panels, brochures and websites, including prestigious media such as Ici Radio-Canada, la Fabrique Culturelle de Télé-Québec and the magazine l'Actualité.
But above all, this project allowed me to meet people from all walks of life: sailors, historians, ethnologists, journalists, artists, museologists, enthusiasts...
This poster is therefore the culmination of an exciting project. This is my way of trying to ensure that these lighthouses do not fall into oblivion and that they are appreciated, visited and protected by as many people as possible. This is an opportunity to say this is our maritime heritage and to be proud of it.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Photography and art speak to my soul. When I go on an expedition or a trip, I feel this desire to document not only what I saw, but also what I felt being there. Each place visited becomes part of the story of who I am. I hope my photography and my art can find a way to be part of your story too.
