Our handmade Pierre Jeanneret Upholstered Armless Office Chair is inspired by the iconic PJ-SI-37A model used at the Chandigarh High Court in 1959-60. The sturdy teakwood frame is reclaimed from the rafters of old demolished buildings, giving it a greater resistance to warping than naturally aired new timber.
It can be custom upholstered in a variety of high-quality fabrics, such as linens, velvets, natural cowhides, and natural leather. Our Jeanneret inspired chair is made with the utmost respect for the original design. Its straight backrest and armless design make it the ideal chair for use around tables. The profiled flat ‘V’ shaped legs are higher than some other styles and are connected by two rails underneath the seat.
Our Pierre Jeanneret inspired Upholstered Range offers other rare models, such as the High Court Lounge Sofa Chair and Advocate Lounge Sofa Chair, all made with fireproof foam and the best available fabrics. Each piece is handmade by local craftsmen in India with a keen eye for detail and respect for the original design.
