Precious banana fiber yarn, hand-dyed with plants.
50 gr (1.7 oz) skein of banana leaf fiber yarn, handspun in small villages in Nepal and Himalayan region in ethical and traditional working conditions, according to ancient artisanal techniques handed down from generation to generation; hand-spun by these skilled artisans, it's then dyed by me with herbs and plants in my farmhouse on the Umbrian hills.
I get the colours exclusively from plants: herbs, flowers, leaves, pine cones, roots ... the ancient method always used for dyeing fibers since prehistoric times.
The dyeing process is an ancient and completely natural technique, which I have taken from tradition and which uses only water, heat and vegetable elements, without chemical fixatives.
In particular, the colours available are:
- bright green, dyed with woad (European indigo) and pomegranate
- brown, dyed with walnut hulls
- orang, dyed with onion skins
- blue, dyed with woad leaves indigo
- dusty pink, dyed with madder root
- natural white, not dyed

Can be considered a 100% vegan substitute for silk.
