On January 1, 2019, Germany’s Packaging Act (VerpackG) came into effect, imposing requirements on online retailers (including Etsy shops) selling to buyers in Germany. The Packaging Act promotes recycling and reuse of packaging materials (e.g. cardboard boxes, tape, and bubble wrap). My company CalamityGen is registered with LUCID, which is the Packaging Register of the Stiftung Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Foundation Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR). Producers/distributors pay a license fee to the dual system for the collection, sorting and recycling of the packaging they introduced to the market. My Dual System partner is Activate by Reclay. I guarantee shipping within one or two business day. For Canadian buyers, Canada Post office pick up time is 16:00 ET. If I receive an order before 15:00 and I’m home I will mail your order the same day. Note that there is no service Saturday and Sunday. If it’s a holiday I will let you know when the next working day will be. For international buyers, pick up is at 7:00 pm, so sometimes if you order later than 4:00 pm I will still send it the same day.

My shop is located in my house and all the art works are decorating my home waiting to be adopted… We are a non smoker family but where lives my dogs, cats and birds. How do I rate my magazine

Mint: Pristine condition Very Good (VG) – Top grade - with all pages present, clean covers, no tears or stains noticeable. Looks practically new! Good/Very Good (G/VG) – complete and clean possibly with minor light cover wear or light aging. Good (G) – Definitely looks its age, but complete. Covers may be slightly soiled or creased, and some fraying of the spine edge may be present. Possible small cover edge tears or light stains. Fair/Good – Well read, and not stored well. Wear to the covers, with possible edge tears, stains, writing, library markings and partially loose pages. Fair – Readable and complete. Well read, and not stored well. Canadian customers : Which postal services I use, tracking, pricing and upgrade shipping

For all patterns, magazines, buttons and small items: I will use Canada post regular mail. It’s the cheapest fastest way of sending items in Canada, no tracking number will be included. When CP is on strikes we use private companies. For all bigger packages, I use private companies. With them you will receive a tracking number. If for any reason you need a faster service, please let me know before you order. Depending on the size of the item and where you live I will calculate the extra shipping cost and your different options. Sometimes it’s not really worth it, depending on your location. Please take note that I ship from Montreal.

American customers : Which postal service I use, pricing, tracking and upgrade

I use two private shipping companies, chitchat and Stallion express with DDP option, which means all tarifs are paid in advance. They both bring shipments to the border, to USPS within the first day. If I ship an item, by noon of the next day, your package will be in the USA. You will see on your package a USPS label. The price only includes the US portion, explaining the difference between what you pay and what’s on the label. The smaller packages are only partially tracked within Canada. Tracking will finished when it will be held to USPS. You have an option to upgrade shipping to fully tracked items for sewing patterns at checkout. Please note that I will reimburse excess shipping cost over 2 dollars.

European and international customers: which shipping company I use, pricing, tracking and upgrades

I use Stallion express that partners with NL (Netherlands). Timing for international shipping depend on factors like holiday, weather, customs and your location inside your country. The fist date on the delivery is the usual date but I fix a range to include contingencies. For all countries, it will be taken in charge by NL until it’s given to your local postal service. For smaller items it’s partially tracked until it reaches Europe.You can decide to upgrade shipping at checkout. Note that for Great Britain it’s fully tracked and handle by Royal Mail. What to do if a package is late

When a package is late we ask you to communicate with us as soon as possible. We will ask you to verify your address in the system, contact your local post office and verify with your neighbours. We always ask to wait one week as delivery delays happen. Please note that we cannot do anything passed 100 days of the presume delivery date and may not passed 60.

**** How do I rate my patterns

NEW Grade A: uncut and factory folded. Instructions and envelope are in pristine
Condition. I will tolerate a stamp on the front, or some light signs of usage of the envelope.

NEW Grade B: Uncut and factory folded. The instructions are included and new but the envelope and or the instructions has sign of usage to different level: writings on the front, tears and crumpling.

NEW Grade C : uncut but not factory folded and or very bad envelope condition.

CUT Grade A: pattern is cut and complete, leaving all sizes available. Very well cut and folded back nicely. Envelope and instructions are in good vintage condition with light sign of usage.

CUT Grade B: Grade A pattern that could have unimportant pieces missing, like a belt or an elastic guide, and or, not cut to all sizes or a very bad envelope.

CUT Grade C: pattern is cut and complete, leaving all the sizes available but not well stored. This pattern needed to be ironed and has such is fragile. Some pieces will need to be reproduce or repaired. Envelope has sign of usage to different extend.

CUT Grade D: Grade C pattern that could have unimportant pieces missing, like a belt or an elastic guide, and or, not cut to all sizes or a very bad envelope.

CUT Grade E: Grade C or D but the pattern is extremely fragile and will need to be entirely copied or/and important pieces or instructions missing.

****The patterns I’m selling come mostly from professional dress maker, estates or charity sales. I verify all the patterns before being listed and again before shipping. I assess if they are complete, the sizes and the instructions. Most of the time if needed the pattern will be ironed.

****If for any reason you are not satisfied I will gladly reimburse you within 14 days upon reception of the item in the state it was send to you.

*** Old patterns has smaller sizing. Please refer to the size on the back. Working with them requires more skill and understanding as they are not as clean as contemporary one. They might have small smell or written notes on them. I’m listing only the one that are in good condition or in some exception very rare one. Please keep that in mind before venturing into this.

****For French customers please take note that I’m French Canadian and has such most of the new patterns will include for you the French instructions. If I don’t have it I will specify it. If the pattern is only in English for the most vintage one, only the English instructions will be provided.
