Description: Unique style of art using acrylic paint and illustrative techniques. The finish is a gorgeous cold wax and mixed media finish that looks like an encaustic painting but is a specialty finish that mimics encaustic work. The sheen is satin with a bit of texture in it from the wax drying.
Finding your tribe is one of the most important things a person can do to feel supported and understood inside and out. Your tribe may only consist of a few friends and loved ones, but when you need a hand, there is strength in numbers and these people will have your back. "Strength in Numbers" is 4x12 by 1 1/2 on wood.
Love to collect art but don't have much wall space? This is the perfect size to display on a desk, bookshelf, or in a little nook and cranny in your home. Or, a great piece to give the gift of a handmade item to a loved one.

About the process and collection:
This painting is a part of my Sticks and Stones collection which is a theme around building up a life, career, family, and a legacy built on a strong foundation. The stronger your foundation is, the more likely you are to succeed in anything you choose to pursue. Almost all of the pieces have either 'sticks or stone' shapes in them for the smaller pieces and then larger abstract pieces have a variation in the shapes. All of my pieces start off with a black-and-white layer and then subsequent layers of specialty acrylic paint. All of the shapes are then detailed with pen and or more paint to give the shapes a sense of depth and mystery. My final process is to coat with multiple layers of varnish, acrylic medium, and then finally cold wax which dries over time to a harder surface. I buff the surface out to get a satiny sheen. The finish coat will have some imperfections as it is the nature of the finish used.
*Be sure to not hang near a sunny window or expose it to extreme heat. If your piece needs to be dusted and shined up, use a lint-free cloth to do so.
