This French opera costume dates back to the 1910s. A bronze lamé tunic top designed in traditional Chinese style with a Mandarin collar, capped sleeves, and an asymmetrical cross-over fastening. The tunic is adorned with gold embossed metal thread ribbon trim, silver metal thread loops with a fine red stripe, and domed silver metal buttons, all of which are very luxurious. The lining is made of high-quality grey twill cotton and features costumier stamps showing the history of the piece from the revered Aristide Boyer, Marseille.

Measures: 18 1/2” underarm seam to seam, 16 1/2” shoulders, 8” arm opening, 29” long from top of shoulder to hem

Condition: overall really great this has been laundered by hand in cool water with a gentle detergent. There are a few split threads in the lamé weave. A small hole in the lower right back. Some slight tarnishing which is to be expected with age.
