This incredible photograph came from the estate of a gentleman named Arthur K. Solomon. He was a noted scientist and scholar with a passion for art. During his undergrad years at Princeton, after becoming acquainted with the renowned Alfred Stieglitz (who became a mentor figure), he took up photography. Later in life, Solomon became a major art collector and his collection, including original works by Cezanne, Rodin, Monet, and Picasso, has been bequeathed to the MFA in Boston and Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge.
This in an original photo print, taken by and processed by Solomon, from the portfolio of work that he created during the early 1930s.
