Vintage Corning Ware Skillet Cradle: Brass Plated Metal Trivet, Mid Century Kitchen

Vintage Corning/Pyrex Cradles are brass plated white metal which has been soldered & plated. They have square-shaped frames with rounded corners and two open white plastic ribbed tubular handles, one at each end, handles are squared off. Their sides are slightly angled down and tapered in. The interior ends of the handles are bent down & tapered in to form the sides of cradle which bend in at bottom to form frame base in an hourglass shape. These were made in the 1950s starting in 1957 & possibly until the early 1960s. These cradles belonged to my grandmother. The smaller cradle is missing both its white plastic handles. The larger cradle has both its white plastic handles but the one handle has damage (see photos). The four metal ball feet protect counter & table surfaces from heat and burn marks by keeping the Corning/Pyrex elevated. The rounded frame corners match those of Corning Ware providing a secure fit. Vintage items show signs of wear.
