A digital download gives you the freedom of downloading the design and printing and framing it way larger than I could without me needing to charge you a zillion dollars for it.

Once you purchase the download, you also have the freedom of keeping the design black on white or layering it on any kind of coloured or colourful background you choose to go with your life. Pics in this posting are to give ideas and inspirations for the kind of backgrounds I have been drawn to, but once you buy it, it's yours to play around with and make your own. PLEASE feel free to post pics if you do do something different to the background. I would be both honoured and intrigued to collaborate digitally with a stranger.

The Neurodiversity umbrella includes but isn’t limited to ADHD, autism / ASD, dyspraxia, down syndrome, dyscalculia, tourettes, dyslexia, sensory processing disorder / SPD, intellectual disabilities, social anxiety, and other mental health conditions like bipolar disorder, OCD, etc.

Neuro-differences are recognized and appreciated as a social category similar to differences in ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or ability.


Here’s my walk through of this lil' design:

EVE. Well, Eve is neurodivergent as as hell, IMO. In her myth, Eve eats the forbidden fruit. Fruit that opens up knowledge beyond what has been presented as the only truth. Eve is curious, and questioning. Eve wants to see beyond what has been imposed by the ruling patriarch as the status quo.
Eve is investigative, risk-taking and has a drive for knowledge and experience even at the expense of eternal comfort and ease.

Please don’t mistake me for a Christian. I’m at best a recovering one. I just find the stories that have shaped history interesting. Note: Isn’t it so funny and cute how the "original sin" is just a woman wanting to know what THE HANK is going on?

Saturn. In Astrology, Saturn is the leader of the Titans and the Father and Founder of civilizations, social order, and conformity.
In this image, Eve stands on top of Saturn. Eve does not reside with or on Saturn. It would be much too small. Part of her is with Saturn and so must feel and experience Saturn in ways. But she is bigger than Saturn and thus must feel and experience more than what only Saturn offers.

Symbols around Eve in this image are an hourglass, patterned discs, a double helix DNA, an anatomical drawing of a brain, the infinity symbol, more patterned discs, an hourglass and a key.

I won't pick apart every single symbol, because there isn’t enough space. Plus it's "art" so you can infuse your own meaning. But my personal musing and I'm sure the musing of many a scientist that have attempted to dive into the evolutionary origins of the genes that ASD, ADHD and other neurodivergence have ridden through humanity on- is that we have neurodivergence to thank for the blossoming of many things that have propelled us forward as a species like language, religion, science, medicine, music, and art.

The frame around the central image is a random sampling of all kinds of wonderful elements of biodiversity bringing home how we need all kinds of flora and fauna and all kinds of neurotypes to really flourish.

I do have postings up of actual prints of this as well in my shop, but they are 4x6 inches for ease of storage and mailing.
