About the design: Imagine you’re cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway along the central coast of California, salty wind and seagulls swirling above you. You exit on to Del Monte Boulevard, towards Fisherman’s Warf and the boats arriving with their days catch.
It is here,nestled along the craggy stretch of coastline, where you find a surprising treasure trove of Mid Century Modern Architecture. You continue your drive along Cannery Row and Lighthouse Avenue, dancing along the shoreline and dipping under the cypress and eucalyptus branches until you eventually arrive in Pacific Grove. A dazzling display of migrating Monarch butterflies lead the way to 17 mile drive, a stretch that takes you through the famed Pebble Beach and ends in Carmel by the Sea, where the lone coastal house Frank Lloyd Wright ever designed sits. While often forgotten for this contribution, this part of California is almost as rich as Palm Springs with Mid Century Modern Architecture. A part of my heart lives along that coast and inspired me to build these bright and colorful bird houses and feeders. I hope they bring you as much joy as visiting there brings me.
