MATERIALS & PRACTICAL NOTES

This tutorial does not lock you into specific brands or materials.

For the macramé work, you can use any cord you’re comfortable with.
In the tutorial, I work with 4–5 mm jute, but once you understand the process, the method adapts easily to different cord thicknesses and materials.

All materials used for the project — including the metal seat ring — are accessible and affordable, with no custom-made parts required.
Specific construction details are explained inside the tutorial itself.

TIME & COMMITMENT

For context only: this project took around 8 hours of active work for me.

I’ve been working with macramé for many years and work at a very fast pace.
During this project, I also paused frequently to take photos, rethink construction details, and redo certain sections, which naturally slowed the process down.

This time frame should not be seen as a benchmark.
Your pace may be slower or faster depending on your experience, rhythm, and how much time you give yourself to think and adjust along the way.
