15" Waldorf Inspired Doll Sewing Tutorial: Wefted Hair, Clothes Patterns (PDF Download) ENGLISH

This is a PDF downloadable tutorial and pattern to create a 15" Waldorf Inspired doll bundle including some clothes.

There are a couple of video links in the tutorial to help you along the way, including a video tutorial of how to crochet a wig using mohair weft.

This is only a tutorial, with patterns, materials are not included.

The patterns can be printed onto A4 paper. When you print the patterns you need to set the printing to SCALE TO PRINT.

The tutorial is 150 pages long and there are lots of pictures to guide you through the steps.

This tutorial is a bit more advanced than my other tutorial for 14" Waldorf Inspired doll . In the other tutorial I only use strings to shape the head of the doll and to add features.

This tutorial will teach you to create a Waldorf Inspired doll, like those on the images. You will learn how to make the face of your doll super cute by adding features using needle felting technic. I will teach you to use rolling technic to fill your doll, so all the limbs are nice and smooth, not lumpy.
You will also learn how to add cute knee caps, belly button and buttocks to your doll.

For the hair of the doll we will be using commercial mohair weft, which will be crocheted into a wig. In my other tutorial the hair is made using yarn.

To be able to create the doll in this tutorial, you will need a general knowledge of using a sewing machine, you need some hand sewing skills, to be able to crochet the wig and embroider the eyes and the mouth.

The body of the doll is sewn together using a sewing machine.

You will need the following materials to make this doll:

270g Carded wool Batting
100x25cm Cotton Swiss tricot, Laib Yala/ Heavy weight or WaldorfiaHago fabric. Folded into half along the grains. If you use different fabric, you may need to change the pattern slightly to make sure it fits. I am enclosing pattern for Laib Yala and WaldorfiaHago. If you use Meaningful Craft fabric, make the limbs and the bodice 0.5cm longer.
55 cm tubular bandage 35 mm wide. I use Sterogauz
12-13 cm long doll making/darning needle
Sewing needle
glass headed pins
Scissors
Crochet hook no. 3 For crocheting the Wig
Brushed Mohair yarn 15-18g
Commercial Mohair weft or other weft about 250-270cm
Air varnishing marker pen. The one I use is called MADEIRA Magic Pen
38 Triangular Felting Needle. I get it from HeidiFeathers (RED)
Multi needle felting tool. I use here the one from CLOVER
Chopstick, not so much necessary for this doll
Stuffing tool or HEX KEY for rolling technic.
Embroidery floss ( DMC or Anchor) for eyes and mouth
Red wax crayon for blushing the doll
Strong thread, I use Glütermann upholstery thread
Extra stron string for shaping the head. The one I use is from Meaningful Craft, but any extra strong string is good. Doll suppliers usually sell it.
Skin colour sewing thread for sewing the body
For freckles / SAKURA PIGMA MICRON 01 - Brown
Measuring tape
Matching strong thread to sew on the wig

If you are buying shoes for this doll, you will need the 6.5 or 7 cxm shoes. The 6.5cm is a snug fit, with the 7cm you can put socks on as well.
