Fabulous! One of the best vintage smoking jackets in my collection. A very luxurious deco robe in blue chinoiserie with black quilted trim.

It is relaxed styling, with drop shoulder lines, it is wrap over .It has 2 large side pockets which have quited trim openings. It is not lined but the inside of the fabric has horizontal bands of color which look better than a lining.

Made in New Zealand by iconic men's wear label Klipper, who have been making quality men's wear, notably robes and ties, since 1939. I have had this robe in a chinoiserie brocade with a label from the 1940s so it had a long production run.

No major faults. No holes. Chinoiserie fabric is still bright, no fading or worn spots. The black quilted fabric has lost a bit of color and in certain lights one edge of the front trim throws slightly brown.

Label Size 92-108cm (36”-42”), which is medium to extra large . It is displayed on a mannequin with a 38” chest.
