For silver and gold plated items, refrain from showering, swimming or using hairspray or perfume on the item as it can cause discoloration and tarnish. To clean, simply use a soft polishing cloth. For sterling silver and gold filled items, please use a sterling silver or fine jewelry cleaner and polish with a soft cloth.

How do I clean Sterling Silver or 14k gold filled jewelry

Sterling Silver: Due to the copper or other alloys that are contained in sterling silver, it may react to the oxygen in the air and cause the sterling silver to tarnish. Perfumes, hair sprays, and profuse sweating can also cause a quicker formation of tarnish. Tarnish can easily be removed with a specially treated polishing cloth and the sterling should look brand new again. 14K Gold Filled: Gold-filled jewelry can be wiped periodically with a soft cloth to remove any accumulation of dirt, perspiration, chlorine, etc. If there is a build-up of dirt in hard to wipe off areas, you may clean the jewelry with a jewelry cleaner and allow to air dry.
