Why are shipping costs so expensive on some of your items?

Items that are heavy and/or large are often expensive to ship, especially when shipped long distances.When it's convenient to do so, and it lowers the cost of shipping, I will use FedEx instead of USPS and refund an overage of shipping cost (if any) paid by a customer. ** If you are purchasing more than one item and if I can combine them into one shipping box it will save on shipping costs and I will refund any substantial shipping overage you paid.

My item arrived damaged what should I do?

Please take one or 2 pictures of the item in it's packaging and contact me on Etsy, showing the photos of the damage. I'll issue an immediate refund.

I'd like to see more photos of the item I'm considering buying.

Message me and request additional photos and describe what you'd like to see. I'll be happy to provide more photos if requested.

Is the color of the item I'm considering buying exactly the color it is in the pictures?

I do everything possible to insure the color in the photos I take is accurate to the item. However lighting often will make the color of an item appear somewhat lighter or darker than it actually is. Also, not all computer screens display color in the same way or in accurate fashion so the color may vary slightly from the actual item color.

There is damage or flaws in the item I purchased that weren't mentioned in the item's description. What should I do?

Please contact me on here and we'll try to work something out. I do my best to give an accurate item description which includes any noticeable flaws, damage, etc. However, occasionally I may miss something. Vintage and antique items often show signs of use, wear and age which is normal and to be expected for an old item. But if I grossly misrepresent an item's condition or functionality I'll happily work with you to your satisfaction.

My tracking number says my item was delivered but it is missing. What should I do?

Contact your mail carrier or the delivery service it was sent by. Theft of packages left on porches and in other areas is an all too frequent problem these days. Unfortunately, once a package is shipped then delivered, there is little I can do if it ends up lost or stolen.

Are any of the items you offer for sale "reproductions"?

I sell only vintage and antique items. It's against my policy to offer for sale any item that is a "repro". I have over 40 years experience collecting, buying and selling old , vintage and antique items. I can usually spot a fake or a "repro" a mile away. I do my best to authenticate all items I sell and will often research them.

I'd like to know more about the item you are selling before I decide to purchase it. What should I do?

What is your policy on returning an item?

I'll allow returns of an item if it meets the following criteria: • I've grossly misrepresented it in my description and it is not as described. • The item is broken and/or damaged during shipping - in which case I'll refund your full purchase price including shipping. • You contact me within 3 days of the item's delivery and ship it back within 7 days • The item is shipped back in it's original condition it was sent and at your expense. I do not allow returns for "buyer's remorse" or if you have decided that you simply don't want it or like it once it is in your possession.

What is your Shipping Method and Shipping Charges

I normally ship via USPS for most items and by what shipping method and price is selected at checkout. However with larger items I sometimes underestimate the weight and/or size of the box I ship your item in, which then exceeds the price you were charged for shipping. When this occurs, I reserve the right to ship your item by the way which is least expensive to me. For example: you order an item for which shipping charges at checkout were $14.50 via USPS priority mail. After I've packed and weighed your package the total shipping results in being $32.00 via USPS Priority. I will then switch shipping to FedEx which lowers my shipping costs to $17.00. I always absorb any extra shipping costs. You will never be asked to pay more for shipping

Vintage from the 1930s

An old canning strainer/ sieve / chinois (the French word) with a cool green wooden handle and base, complete with a wooden pestle. This is in good condition considering it's age and use over the years with just a little surface rust (easily removed). I'm not quite sure how these were used but I guess they were used in canning tomatoes way back when. Anyway, it looks kinda cool and makes a nice display piece for a vintage kitchen tool collection.
