This is neither a bad review nor a good review but for anyone ordering for a student who hyper-fixates on distracting details, please note that it is more likely than not that you will receive mineral streaks and knots, even if you request otherwise. This is stated in their product descriptions — and a common risk when purchasing made-to-order wood items — but I wanted to reiterate this again in the reviews for anyone who may not catch the disclaimer. I personally find them to be beautiful pieces…but for their intended purpose as a non-distracting backdrop for educational manipulatives (i.e. a movable alphabet) my search continues for a more accommodating seller. I would have waited a longer lead time or even paid a “care fee” if it meant acquiring simpler grain patterns.
