Is shipping insured? And how is my order packed?

Yes, we always ship insured with fedex/DHL. It happens that the current rates are different then the shown rates on etsy. These are estimates. We always pack our items well taking everything into account. We use bubble wrap, air cushions, extra cardboard inside the box and so on. For larger and heavier items we use a company that crates the items for us. Its important that when an item is damaged, the damage is reported within 48h of receiving with plenty of images of both inner and outer packing. If not we cant proceed with a claim/refund.

Its important that when an item is damaged, the damage is reported within 48h of receiving with plenty of images of both inner and outer packing. If not we cant proceed with a claim/refund. I need to pay more shipping then showed in the listing.

This is rearely the case for smaller items. For larger items, such as furniture, floor lamps,..the shipping quotes are specific to where you live, for USA for example it depends on the state. Therefore we cannot show an exact quote in advance. The shown shipping rates are always estimates and can vary depending on your exact location. Additional costs are mostly paid trough paypal.

For lamps, what bulb sizes can I use?

We always provide the needed bulb size to use. We do not provide light bulbs with any of our lamps because these are sometimes not compatible with the voltage used in yor country. Therefore we advise you to buy lamps in your own country which will perfectly work. The most common used light bulbs are E27 screw in bulbs, interchangeable with US E26 bulbs. E14 screw in light bulbs. It happens that some of our lamps have bajonet fitting bulbs. Mostly the case with antique French or english lamps. These lamps are to be found on the internet. If you have any questions, we can always help you!

Electricity - safety standards

All our lamps come rewired in compliance with our EU safety standards. This doensn't automaticaly mean that these lights comply with the standards in your country. Our lamps work around the globe with different voltages as long as you use light bulbs that work in your country. We deliver our lamps without plugs, because these might be different depending on your location. Should you have specific request for wire lenght or other, always contact us, we are happy to change it according to your needs.

Import duties and taxes?

All our items ship from Belgium (EU). We ship duty free to every country in the EU. For intercontinental shipping it happens that duties are applied. For vintage items they usually won't be that high and most of the times it is exempt. It is impossible to check on the duty rules for every country depending on the object. Therefore we state that the buyer is responsible for any additional duty or tax payment. You are always free to contact us if there is a doubtable high amount to pay.
